Hi. I smelled some burning smell this morning when driving my 09 xD automatic. The smell was something like burnt paper / some chemical. Not burning oil smell. Checked engine oil and coolant level. Looked normal. Car drove fine. Wonder if anyone has similar experience. Thanks.

I noticed that smell after the car was turned off up until it had about 5K miles on it.

 

needs new oil maybe?

I guess this is a joke? I hope so.
I attributed the smell to all the new finishes getting baked off of the engine / trans, cat conv. etc. It smells like any other new piece of equipment that gets hot. My new riding mower did the same thing.
