Same rattles here. The most persistent/annoying is the upper left corner of the dash where it meets the driver's side door, especially when it's cold and the heat is on. I have others, too.

I am one of those that are highly annoyed by rattles and will contact my dealer about it prior to bringing it in for my 10k service (very very soon...)

My clicking noise sounds more from the cowl area. Like a piece of ice tapping against the windshield. Its defiantly not ice as its all melted on my car and I checked the cowl. But its a clicking noise right against the windshield and it doesn't happen all the time.

Default dash vibration

I've had my Scion xD since Sept. 2008. Not long after getting it, the vibration in the dash started. I have had it to the dealer several times but by the time it gets there, the vibration stops and they can't find it. They have been more than helpful but can't fix what they can't find. The latest mechanic checked on Scion's website to see if anyone else had reported this problem and said he found nothing, so this morning, I wrote to Scion and had them document this vibration. If all of you that are experiencing this problem would get in contact with Scion, and they are very nice to deal with, and tell them what is happening, a recall may be in order and this annoying, and I mean very annoying vibration may be able to get fixed. Thanks and please contact Scion and let them know what's happening for all our sakes. Go to:www.scion.com and you can either talk to an online tech, or phone or email. I've dealt with them before and they are very pleasant to work with.

Not good for a car with only 1,200 miles. It appears to be in the upper right corner of the middle console. As you gas the car the vibration gets louder.

Has anyone else experienced any dash noise?

No other issues..... love the car otherwise. But NEED to deal with this. Noises make me crazy...
I've had this problem almost since we've owned the car. Toyota dealership can't find what's causing the vibration because the car won't cooperate when we take it in. Report it to www.scion.com. The more reports they get on it, the more chance we have of a recall to fix the problem.

I've gotten the dash rattle now too actually. While I was driving (bad move I know) I pulled off the top of the waterfall and the rattling still occurred. So its not the vents making the noise. Wish I had someone in the car with me to take the dash apart while I drive

hi guys, had the same problem 6 mons after got car. been following this post for awhile to find the rattle in the dash that goes away when push on top.I tried some of the suggestion from other post but was still getting rattle.was able to investigate further today and may have found what is causing it. the rattle is cause by the vibration between the windshield defroster vent and the dash that surround the vent, especially the corner of the farthest left and right vent. was easily able to push vent away from the dash and place some foam between the two pieces on the L and R side and no more rattle. hope this help other.

Do, I've got a bit of a dash rattle... seems to be a bit to the left of the center vents, maybe the right-most part of the instrument cluster. I pulled the top of the waterfall off, but couldn't see much. There's already a bit of white padding material in there... but I think the rattle is further back. I'll have to take another look when I have more time.
