Default General LED question

Is there any reason for all of my blue and green LEDs to go on my underbody light kit? The red still work fine. Or am I more likely to have a case of crappy product?

The power is thru one of those add a circuit things plugged into the fuse box to the brake light fuse and the ground is to a washer on one of the bolts that hold the steering column to the firewall.

I just thought it was odd 2 of the 3 colors went out but the third is working just fine.

Sounds like the controller went bad and those colors bit it from that. I'd try them on another controller if you could, and see if that helps.

What kind do you have?

Hmm.. I don't have another controller but I do have replacement tubes. If the controller is bad the replacement tubes should also have problems as soon as I plug them in then, correct? The same controller works the interior tubes and I haven't had a problem with them only the exterior.

The lights are from www.ledunderbody.com

check the USB connections. maybe they are lose? or there might be a problem with their connection to the controller. is there any rust anywhere? or corrosion?

All connections are tight. The lights started to go just a few weeks after being installed. At first it was just a small patch of 4 LED's in a row here and there in the blue and green strips going dead, progressing to only all red working within a few more weeks. I think one side tube has a small section green that still work but that's it.

All connections are inside the car, and i havent had any leaking in the cabin. That's the one thing I liked about this kit. The wires were plenty long to run everything where I wanted it easily.

Ooooo....I pondered upgrading to that if these replacement tubes kick the bucket. How is it holding up for you? Have you tried programming it? You should post some pics/videos of it in action!

Where's your meet up at? My weekends are always up in the air. I work in a food manuacturing plant and we never know if we will have to work weekends to meet sales until mid week. Real pain in the ___ to make plans around.

our meet up is april 24th at dave and busters near pittsburgh (a suburb called "homestead" at the "waterfront").

what LED kit do you have? and i bought the smaller "front" and "rear" tubes, and put them inside my vehicle. programming is fairly easy, just time consuming. and they are nice!!!

I have the interior and exterior 7 color LED kit.

Ahh, D&B!! I havent been to one of those since I moved away from St. Louis 5 years ago. That sounds like a possiblity, as long as I am off of work.

oh you only got the 7 color kit. i had one of those in the old xD. got too boring for me, so new car, new interior.

speaking of, know anyone who would want a "million color" flexible kit? i'm looking for cost. $50. it has 6 6" tubes of red green blue yellow in them, they flex, come with the wireless controller, remote.

Yea, only the 7 color. The chase patterns it puts out are pretty tame. I generally keep it in the morph to different colors slowly setting.

Six tubes included total included in your kit? Ment for interior or exterior? Would they work good for a footwell interior kit? Or is that the wheel well/engine bay kit?

Let me ask a guy at work. He was oogling my interior lights (have the exterior's unplugged till I replace the tubes the raccoon incident destroyed as well as the nonfunctional still attached ones) the other night and was asking me all about them.

Um.... come take a looksie!!! That's about the best I can describe it. I have them in the footwells, and under the driver/passenger seats. They look good, and since they're supposed to be undercars, they can take the abuse of feet without worry.

exactly that one. i wasn't impressed with the patterns generated or color "modes", and lack of programmable sets or functions.

i want cost plus shipping. whatever that would be. LOL probably like $5 from the post office.
