Default Got my XD

Finally got my car and have had it for three days. So far I am very happy with the purchase. The thing I like is that it has everything I would ever need and a little extra with the Ipod connection, and all of the standart features.. Great gas milage I averaged 35 miles a gallon on the highway which was way above my expectation.

A couple things I would like to comment on for future buyers or people who have never bought a car before. When they tell you to look over the car, do it with a fine tooth comb. As I was washing my car today, I found a place on the roof where it looks like something scraped the paint off. Almost like someone took a brillo pad to it. There is no way that I did this in the three days I have had the car. I didn't notice it A . because it was on the roof, B because it was dusk when I was looking over the car, and C because it was raining at the time when I was looking at the car. Also they did a really horrible job detailing the car. I found what I though was a giant scratch going all the way around the car, but it was really just the area where they had peeled away some sort or protectant. Fortunately I emailed my salesman and sent him pictures of the problem and he said he would have the car redetailed and take care of the spot on top.

Also, if your salesperson is trying to talk you out of a certain feature (for me it was the VSC) its not because they are trying to save you money. I was told by a friend of mine that the commission for the salesperson can be lowered by the addition of certain features. This makes sense as I was confused as to why the salesperson would talk me out of something that would add to the cost, something that I thought would make their commission greater. Well I opted not to get the VSC, so that ship has sailed, oh well you live you learn.

Anyway once I have my few problems fixed I will post again. So far honestly this has been a horrible experience, and I was more than livid when I found that spot on top of the car. I was really worried they wouldn't fix it, but that has seemed to work out, but we'll see what happend once I bring it to the dealer. I'm also waiting on my alloy wheels and CARPET MATS to come in. Seriously, carpet mats, how long does it take to get something like that shipped, and second why the hell did they not have those in stock in the first place. And the whole detailing fiasco honestly its like they didn't give a crap about the product they gave me or B they have a horrible service department as I am pretty sure that spot on top is from them buffing the area for too long. I would mention the dealers name, but I am waiting to see how this all pans out before I start slandering anyone.

All right enough complaining, I really like the car, its definately a great buy. I will post again with how the rest of this pans out.

Well I would raise hell about the car being damaged when its brand new. I would ask for the mats for free or a serious discount on them. That is totally unfair and not good to damage a car and sell it. Sure they might not have noticed the errors but they should've looked over the car and had you look over it on the lot. I sure as hell did.

Anyways, I hope things for out for you and the dealer with no bad feelings. Glad you love the xD so far

Yeah, I did look over the car, I just didn't look at the roof carefully enough. The area where the spot is is where there is that rubber divider on the left side of the car. It's a yellowish almost rust like color, and like I said and a few people I have talked to as well thinks they might have burned it with the buffer. The funny thing is I didn't notice it, and now it is all I can see, I guess that's the way it is though.
