I use the hell out of my xD for everyday running around.. its the car I pick out of 3 for running errands and zipping around town in.. its been in the mid 90's here almost all summer..
So the AC is on most of the time.. Its an automatic which makes heavy traffic more bearable..
Between the heat and AC being on.. the car is soggy and slow to respond to throttle input..
This is just with me in the car.. I can't imagine how it would feel with 3 other people or some cargo.. I know its normal to lose some power between the AC and hot thin air.. but I feel like getting the whip out and beating on it to get it to move... lol...
But it keeps me nice and cool... always gets me there and back... so I shouldn't complain too much... can't wait for the fall air so I can get those crisp shifts back and lose that spongy pedal feel.. still getting 32 - 35 avg MPG.. so I'm not complaining too bad..
Will be interesting to see how it holds its value since they aren't being made anymore...
I'm sure it will still hold its value well... all n' all.. a great little car...

Our 2009 is fine in the heat. A bit sluggish with AC going, but since we have a 5 speed we just have to get the rpms up into the power band. You might try manual shifting your automatic if you can, these little engines really need the revs to go. . . And +1 to the 34-38 mpg.

The xD isn't worth Modding IMO... its beauty lies in its simplicity, low weight
And cost to own... great for what it is right out of the box...
The only mod I made was getting some Yokohama tires... much better ride and much less noise...
