Default New Scion xD owner

So I finally decided to buy a new car after driving my 2002 Toyota Echo for the last year and a half. The car has 200,000 miles on it and while it has never given me a single problem, it was just time for a new ride. Scion was the obvious choice because of Toyotas reliability and Scions amazing styling.

The car: 2009 Scion xD release series 2.0, the car is Wasabi Green with a manual transmission. As soon as I get a chance Ill snap some pictures for everyone's enjoyment. I ordered some 20% tint for all of the windows that I hope to have installed by the end of the week. First mod will most likely be TRD lowering springs and a new set of rims.

Welcome! SIIIIIIICK I can't wait to see your car!!!

Other than tint, do you have many plans to mod it or are you going to leave it pretty stock? If you have mods in mind, I'd love to hear what you have planned!

Also, what # did you end up getting? Auto or manual?

Hope you enjoy it! Personally, I think xD's are the only way to go if you're going to get a Scion! hehehe

I had a chance to get out and snap a few quick pictures. Like most colors like this you either hate it or you love it. I personally like the color a lot. Green is my favorite color and when I found it with a manual transmission that was it, I was sold. I dont love the pioneer system they put in these by any means but its better than nothing for now.

Im pretty sure its an 09, all of the manufacture stickers say 09.

As far as the difference in the RS 2.0, there isnt a whole lot. The color is the main thing and the sound system. It has a Pioneer Navigation/MP3 tocuhscreen head unit. The unit is reverse camera, HD and sirius ready. Its not an amazing unit but I popped a 32GB flash in the USB port thats hidden in the glovebox and I more or less have as much storage as I could possibly need now and I can easily remove the flash and add music when I want. Other than that it comes stock with neons inside the car that change colors and thats about it. Its not a world of difference but I like the color.

The sound system and reverse camera alone make it sound worth it, Great choice man, I hope you have fun modding it to fit you

well, remember, the manufacture year, and the "series" year are different. they make next year's "models" this year. mine is an 09 xD. i bought it in sept 08, and it was manufactured in july of 08. but it's an 09 model year.

in fact, mine is one of the first 09's that was manufactured (judging by date of manufacture)

Really sad to see there is no "zing" in the inside of the RS2 other than the HU and seats. :?

Whooa, they gave me a plaque! Its one of only 1600! haha Yeah I feel like they could have done a lot more to be honest. I was kind of disappointed when I found out the RS 1.0 came with the dash trim prepainted to match the out side of the car, I liked that a lot. I have plans on taking mine out and painting it to match the out side of mine.

Finding one in stick makes it rare enough, from my purchasing experience.

Congratulations.

Did it at least come with VSC? If so, there'll be a button for it down near the parking brake. If not, that sucks. It's an incredible safety feature, and will be mandatory on all cars in 2012.

They should hire you as a spokesperson for VSC From my talking to salespeople and a scion "champion" I was told that they searched the midwest every month looking for RS and none of them came with VSC, and hardly any came with a 5sp.

BTW how much would you be willing to part with that radio if you did get your own?

Yeah, the Scion dealer I talked to said that it was super rare they actually had an RS that was manual. (I went into the dealer ship looking for a manual xD and that was the only one they had) As far as VSC I dont think it has that. I didnt notice it when I was looking at the owers manual.

I might sell the head unit but its going to be a while before that happens. I would have to look at how old it is when I decide to swap out the had unit and go from there.
