Doesn't come as a surprise. I contributed to its low sales when I was looking for a 4 door hatch. It was between the xB and the Honda Fit. I went wit the Fit.

doesnt surprise me either, i have always thought it was a bad idea to have 2nd generations of any of the models and give the replacements original names or concepts. the 2nd gen xB was all kinds of wrong as an xB, IMO, even the second gen bB wasn't what we ended up with.
the only models scion seems to be able to do best are the "new" ones.

Sad to see it go. I really felt like Scion had a lot of opportunity with this little car, but never pushed it or really kept it competitive enough in the market. (A tweaked interior and 4wd borrowed from the Ist would have been nice.)
But I'll agree with ThisorThatxD- I still love the car and I'm gonna keep it running until it dies.

From what I understand from the article, is that it is speculation although expected. The new yaris had me thinking the XD might change or end because they share a chassis.
I dug the first gen XB, but wanted one with a 1.8L. The XD came along with just that, and XB changed to something like the Honda Element. What can you do except look toward the future. I'll probably keep my car for a long time, especially if they discontinue it.
I do like the FRS, and believe it will get the lions share of Scion sales in the future.

Never thought I would see the day the xB would go away. I really don't see what Scion is doing though. In the line up you have a touring coupe, a sports car, and a tiny little car that is somewhat useless for long hauls...what kind of product line is that?

I think one mistake is making the xD look too much like the xB. Never made sense to me.

the xA never really caught on (compared to other models) thus its replacement didnt have much going for it either. maybe im just into oddball cars, but this xD has done everything i asked for, and even while stanced does me a great service. im less worried about the xD line ending, and more about what scion is going to do next. this leaves only 3 models left, and i dont see the iQ catching on strong at all.

I'm not surprised. The lack of aftermarket support kinda went away from the whole 'customization' thing Scion pushes. I had the choice bw an xB and xD. I chose the one no one has. I like driving down the road and not seeing another one.

This ^^^ I was stoked when the xD was first introduced. I saw something unique about it and even considered trading in the tC. And then I got my D, excited to get started and found next to NO options available. Sucks :/

the iQ is selling as strong or stronger then the xD the few months it has been available nationally.

I like my xD though, I am keeping my xD just as long as i am keeping my tC, till the wheels fall off, lol
not many of them around in black currant either, everyone always says it's a sweet color and if it is custom.

If you think that's bad, one can think how much of a pain it would be to match the xB RS 4.0 Maziora "Torch Penny".

Not going to happen. Then they will be left with no car to compete with Civic and Forte and similar FWD coupes/hatches.

You are right about that! I made them re-do the front bumper after they painted it the GM and Chrysler copper color. Second pass is much better.

Just read on Wikipedia today the xD is not being made for 2013. I'll keep mine a few more years at least. Love the flexibility and efficiency. Was surprised to find the iQ costs as much as my release series 1. Not sure who would buy the iQ when the xD is around. That will not be an issue for too much longer.
