xD Life Expectancy
How long is the xD body going to be with us. I've been less than bowled over by its looks and was wondering if this is a 4 or 5 year cycle?
My Yaris seems to have so much more front seat room than the xD I can't help but wonder what the differences are?

Only the market will tell. I would assume 4 years minimum unless sales are awful next year. it also depends on when the ist is redesigned in japan.
is your yaris a 2 door? the doors are longer on the yaris and the bigger gap with the back seat on the xD might give the illusion of a bigger area on the yaris in comparison

I know that everyone has their own tastes, that is what makes this world so great! But the two door Yaris is the ugliest thing I have ever seen! It reminds me of a Jetson mobile, except, it doesn't fly, so it is not cool at all! I think the xD is a much better looking vehicle. Just my opinion.

It should be 6 years at most, we were shortended by 5 on the xA and xB1 because they held off bringing those cars to the states when they were released in Japan. The normal set up is usually a redesign after 2 years. Which means one more year til a complete tC redesign and small redesigns for the xB and xD if im not mistaken

The Toyota/Lexus life cycle is typically 5 years. Some models do get a shortened life span (xA/xB for example, simply due to late arrival stateside, they wanted to follow their Japanese production change too, I assume). Others have extended life spans due to various reasons (next-gen will be very different, exclusive vehicle, vehicle will be phased out soon, etc).
We'll use the tC as an example.
05, 06, 07 Gen 1
08, 09 Gen 1.5 (redesigned style updates in front and rear)
We should be expecting a new tC (or for the tC to be replaced) in 2010, but it's not for certain.
