Fitment

Fitment
Just wondering if anyone has some experience test fitting. maybe one of the boys from Hawaii.
Looking at going 16x8.5 +14 in the back, 16x7.5 +14 in the front, and trying to get away with it on trd springs, fender roll, and linings removed, hopefully no other body work.
Thoughts?

Yea finally actually looking at new wheels now that the end of the year is approaching and bonus's are coming up. Still undecided if I'm going to get them for the xD or if im going to get them for the 280Z.
for the xD , looking like BBS RS's 16 or 17 x 7-9 with slight poke.
If i get for the 280, 16x9 - 16x11, 0 or neg offset, something japanese.

Oh well,
I decided to stay conservative with the D's wheels and spend the bigger money on wheels for the 280 at the end of the year. But i did still want something new so........
Im pretty sure im going to need bigger tires though. gonna get a more aggresive drop, probably move from TRD to DF. Should be a fun change up from the O.Z.s though

Think of it this way.
One inch = 25mm
and for each inch you put on the wheel, add .5 to each side of the face.
so our stocks = 16x6.5 +35 offset:
is 3.25 inches on each side of the face with the face being 35mm (approx 1.35") closer to the outside of the wheel. which leaves a little under 2 inches from the outside of the wheel to the bolt hub. and a little over 4.5 " back spacing
The wheels you are looking at = 18x9.5 +20 Offset:
is 4.75" on each side of the face, with the face being 20mm (a little under 1") closer to the outside of the wheel. leaving roughly 3.75" from the outside of the wheel to the bolt hub, and roughly 5.75" backspacing.
What it basically comes down to is you're extending the lip of the wheel by almost 2" which wont fit.
The best thing you can do is to match Misformartin's information to my original post to give you an idea of what to look for.
8.5 14offset +10mm offset, 8.5 24mm offset. is with a 1mm or so poke. so 3.25 or so of front spacing seems like it'll be what gives you that poke, so ill go 3" front spacing just to stay a little conservative, especially if you're trying to tuck.
basing it on a small chart it would look something like:
7, +13
8, +25
8.5, +32
9, +38
9.5, +45
Note that I have not test fitted any of this, just basing on some rough math. Also that is just trying to fit on the front spacing, when you get into 9 and 9.5" wide you might start running into backspacing problems. Katch might be able to give more insight into how much backspace clearance he has.

Oh yes, i'm flush...Here is the thread... https://www.scionlife.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=172861
Roll your fenders yet, because it looks like you will have to with the stance and another inch or so drop. or you might end up with rubbing on the sidewall. although also depends on how the DFs effect the camber.

Have not rolled fenders yet...
Im hoping to get a little camber out of the DF210's to help avoid with the rubbing...Only time will tell...When I did the fake curb tuck, I did get some decent camber and didnt notice it touching but then again I was not driving anywhere...Worse comes to worse, Randode can remove the 10mm spacer shims and throw the 5mm spacer shims on...We will know more after Sunday...

I wonder if it would help if I went for a little stretch and ran a 215/40/18, 205/40/18, or 215/35/18? Any suggestions? This is IF I run into rubbing problems so I DONT have to roll the fenders...

Considering what Katch is running and that hes on coilovers, I dont think that you'll encounter rubbing issues, and if you do, id say slight camber and/or different tires can fix it

DF210s go on Saturday, rims go on monday.
Ordered my tires yesterday, 225/50/15 Toyo Proxes. not quite what I wanted but it was either nice tires on the 15s on TRDS or some cheaper tires on the 15s and DF210s.
And the pricing on the DF's was too good to pass up so i jumped on it, and went with cheaper tires
