Rain, what is that?

And man did you mess up the prior page with those pic post or what? LOL You need to put them under one another with a space so that it doesn't make it so wide But I agree, car looks great, can't wait to see daylight pics...

As far as camber shims, Randode can make them for me but I don't think he will mass produce them for liability reasons...He already said he would custom make me a set, I'm just not sure if I wanna wear down a tire that quick...I drive 62 miles round trip for work, they would be toast in no time...

So my question is this, should I grind the inner fender and paint so it doesnt rust or camber shims until I need new tires and then buy 205/40/18's or 215/40/18's? So many possibilities

I want to but they only have a few thousand miles on them...I could always sell these and just buy new ones but then I would have to pay to dismount and remount...Sounds like a big pain in the ****...

I guess you didn't read that part in one of my other threads...Oh what fun we had at Randy's house, I've never had my rims on and off so many times in one day... After installing the DF's, I took it for a SHORT test drive and I rubbed like crazy...Pondered the idea of grinding my inner fender but Randy talked me out of it which surprised me...Decided to remove the 10mm spacer and install the 5mm...After the 5mm was installed, take it out for another test drive and it was still rubbing like crazy...I really wanted to keep the spacers and grind the inner fender but Randy steered me from it so we just removed the 5mm and now im spacerless...

On the drive home, I rubbed only a couple times over some larger bumps in the road...But after taking the wifey out today, it rubbed quite a bit so I texted Randy and it looks like we will be grinding the inner fender sometime later this week...

So xDTool, to update your fittings...***Note***This is just from my trial and error...Remember, all tires are manufactured different and some sidewalls are higher than others...For example, my tires have an extremely high stiff sidewall for a 40 series (Sunny Brand) where as the Neo Gen's have a shorter softer sidewall for a 40 series...

My set-ups were done with Axis Decades with rear Maxis Lip:

18X8 (35 offset) 225/40/18 on TRD Springs = No Rubbing/ZERO PROBLEMS

18X8 (25 offset) 225/40/18 on TRD Springs = No Rubbing/FLUSH FITMENT/MAY rub if you have a heavy audio system (I don't have one)?

18X8 (25 offset) 225/40/18 on Tanabe DF210's = Lots of Rubbing/FLUSH FITMENT/Need camber or grind inner fender, or stretch tire to make this set-up work

18X8 (30 offset) 225/40/18 on Tanabe DF210's = Lots of Rubbing/FLUSH FITMENT/Need camber or grind inner fender, or stretch tire to make this set-up work

18X8 (35 offset) 225/40/18 on Tanabe DF210's = Occasional Rubbing/ALMOST FLUSH/Need camber or grind inner fender, or stretch tire to make this set-up work without the occasional rubbing...Or it may just be my tire brand which does have a high stiff sidewall for a 40 series compared to some other brands of tires...

Camber doesnt necesarrily own tires in the combo of camber / toe... i have camber on my first gen xb and i drove 66 miles a day for work and tires last me 8-9 months.... that and the fact that im stretching but the camber shims i have have toe within factory specs at my ride height.... and like i said your toe changes as your go lower on you car.... well thats cool if randy doesnt want to produce them i know of a couple of people taht are working on the idea of them

On Monday, Randy (RANDODE) and I grinded my inner rear fenders down so I would not rub anymore...We grinded down to almost only 1/8 of an inch of inner lip left on each of the fenders...We put the 5mm spacers in and I STILL rubbed with passengers but NO rubbing with just me...Removed the 5mm spacers and ZERO rubbing so i'm gonna run spacerless until I can get new rubber and run a little stretch, then I will put the spacers back on...

So the moral of the story, because I ran and tried every damn combination with the 18X8 lowered on DF210's, if you dont want to rub you need either 40 offset, run a different size tire than I did (225/40/1 or grind your inner fenders and run a 35 offset...Remember, this is with a 225/40/18 tire...

I ran both a 30 offset and 25 offset without passengers and only rubbed on bumps and stuff...But with passengers, it rubbed LIKE CRAZY before grinding the inner fender...

After grinding, NO RUBBING with 30 offset (5mm spacers added to my 35 offset rims) with just me but did rub with passengers...

Im sure you could run a 18X8 with a 30 or 25 offset with a stretched tire (215/40/18 or even a 205/40/1 and not rub but I will have to wait awhile until I burn through this set...

For now i'm happy I guess...I'm ALMOST flush but not quite where I want to be...

With a less aggressive drop spring like the TRD, I had ZERO problems running the 10mm spacers bringing my final offset to 25...

Hope this helps some of those that were wondering...Sure is fun grinding on a perfectly good car...

are you on stock shocks? stiffer suspension will help when people are in the car. also stretching the tire and adding camber will help alot.

in regard to rolling the fenders. if you take your time and heat up the fender and roll slowly your paint will not crack at all. it will help to have one person heat the fender while you roll. it only takes me about 30 minutes a fender without cracking the paint.

Because of the tC rim offsets, I would recommend running some rear spacer shims that you can get from randode.com

Here is the installation thread that we did to show how to install them: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=172861
