Hi, I am new to the SCION world, will pick my new XD in two days at the dealership. Gave my 93000 miles Echo RS to my son.

I will drop the XD 1.5 inche using the TRD coil springs.
Then I plan to order XXR 502, 17-7 5-100 +38 offset 5.57 Backspace and 73.1 centerbore (see link below for specs and picture.)

On those mags, I plant to mount 215/50R17 tires.

Will the wheels fit without rubbing in the fenders?
I don't want to roll the fender.

Any advise?

Those are very conservative specs, they will stick out 7mm further than if you pust stock tC wheels on there. In actuality, 215/45/17 would probably be a better fit, albeit a bit more expensive choice.

 

Will 45 will give a bumpy ride? This is why I was sticking to 50. The price is not an issue. My concern is rather the fit in the wheel bay without touching the chock and the fenders.

 

hmmm, i had 18s w/225/40s with trd springs and i felt the ride was pretty rough. no clearance issues though.

What was your wheels width and offset?

 

18x8, and i'm gonna guess the factory offset of +38. they were on the car when i got it.

 

OK, I'll go ahead and order the XXR mags specified on my tread head.
