i used the rattlecan wheel paint from autozone.
sounds to me like you just gotta sand a lil better so the paint sticks.
you could also try using a primer first...

that's so frustrating. I literally spent more than 4 hours on each wheel to make sure the sanding was perfect and now I've gotta redo it all

I let it sit for no more than 8 hours before putting them on and driving them. I washed them the next day. And it's been over a month going through at least 6 car washes. No problem at all. Maybe a few hours of Arizona heat is like days of heat elsewhere...

yea i put mine on an hour afterwards and drove in the rain that night, even though it says not to.
not really sure what your problem is batman but i hope you figure it out and they turn out better this time!

no they're still fresh, I just finished on yesterday lol, but they sat for well over 10 hours before being driven on

idk I think I'm gonna wait untill I finish up with school then resand, primer, then use exterior paint and then clear over it.

Its just so strange because I never had a problem before when painting. I wonder if its because I used a rougher grit first because I probably didnt go over every area such as the tight curves. Though i dont see why rougher texture would result in less adhesion.

Just painted these bad boys last weekend. Spent about 20 hours sanding, masking, priming, painting, more masking, and more painting.

Ever get the feeling you're getting screwed at the pump?

Thanks for the positive feed back guys. Like yellowxhoodie said just masking tape and take your time. I actually masked from inside the bead of where the tire meets the wheel lip and went all the way around the tire and masked most of the inside of the wheel except for like 2" I left behind the spokes and did that black. After I did primer and 4 coats of black, I already had the tire masked off so I just needed to mask the center of the wheel to the lip leaving only the area I wanted to be red open and did 5 coats of Duplicolor engine enamel since they don't make the high performance wheel coating in red. I like the way the red has a gloss to it because of the ceramic in the engine enamel and the black is more of a flat finish since I didn't do a clear coat. It really makes the red lip pop. I took a bunch of pictures but they're still on my girlfriends phone I'll see if I can get them posted tonight. One other thing if you're going to paint the wheels black don't miss the center caps and I did the heads of the lug nuts as well because I didn't like the look of other paint jobs where they were left unpainted.

painting the lugs look better but as soon as you go to rotate your tires say goodbye to you rprecious lug paint job. lol

when i took me car in for its first free oil change, i got lucky, the salesman who sold me my car wanted to check out what i had done so we went in back, and the tech was just about to rotate my tires, he asked me if i wanted it done because hes prob chip my paint, so i said no just leave em. lol
