I actually like it just like that. It gives some nice contrast IMO. Nice job!

I've had mine for almost a year through rocks, mud, rain, snow, road salt, pressure washers, and pretty much any other condition you can think of....they're holding up fine.

has anyone used a different paint? I know that the wheel paint works really well but they have no gold color.... Is there any other paint that could be used?

There might be other brands that offer a gold color..there's a Chevy Cavalier around here with gold painted factory wheels, so there must be. I'd imagine that the procedure would be the same as mine :D

Correct. It's a little dark though...dunno if that's what he's looking for.

did you sand the parts that didnt need to be painted? I doubt you would but just want to make sure.

Is the 400 grit sand paper the only sand paper you used? I have never done this, but am thinking about it. I would think maybe using different grits...ie: stronger at first or actually i dont know--- well thats the question then lol just one grit? thanks in advance.

I painted my wheels all black...then the next day it snowed and got salt all over my wheels as well as my car. Soo...they paint chipped and I have to redo it, so I need to wait for winter to end then do it again. I used the Dupli-Color clear coat and they came out perfect, I was really happy with the way they came out, until it snowed.
