ahh nice! i never thought about doing that! i've been looking for sleek black rims but didnt want to spend money at the moment. buahah i'll go do this over the weekend hopefully

 

Sorry to hear that! You don't have to wait for winter to end, but you do have to kep checking the forecast to see when it won't precipitate for a few days....at least 3 or 4 days with no precipitation should be ok. Hope they last longer the next time!

 

Yeah its best to wait here in Missouri, like last night we had hail and a tornado warning and they suck at perdicting the weather here too. This way I can do it outside too because last time I did it in a poorly lit wharehouse and I wasn't confindent about the way I was doing it but then they came out good.


BUT, since the paint that has chipped right after I painted my wheels, no more paint has chipped off so Im confident it will not chip for a very long time.

Sweet! Let meknow what kind of clear you use...the Dupli-Color stuff wasnt cooperating with me. I'm going to try and clear them again this spring.

i was up and down on wether i should paint my rims dude and this post ____in sent me over the edge, im gonna follow exactly what you did and say f**k it and hope out it turns out nice, i have a SW tc and i think it will look clean!

 

Yeah, I dont know if you should go with a flatter color (No clear) or a gloss finish (nice clear coat). It will work out good either way just depends on your taste.

 

^^ Either way will turn out great...I like the contrast my flat and clearcoat looks, but eventually I may clearcoat the whole wheel.

Im in the process now of repainting my wheels. I should get the two front ones done tonight, then tomarrow Ill finish the back two. This time I got a better sand on them and I have set it up so that I dont have to drive my car for the next couple of days so if it does rain its in a nice whearhouse and I can let them dry for a good day.

Which is good because I have a car 2 car shows in Kansas City next weekend.

I just finished my wheels and they already look better than they did before. Hopefully this time the weather is nice and it wont rain or snow and they can get a good dry.
