285,000 miles
just hit 285,000 miles on my 2000 Echo, by far the most cost-efficient car I've ever owned. but I'm giving up the ghost and buying a Scion xB ( the Yaris is too small for a tall person) before the repair bills finally start appearing. Since so few people have reached this mileage yet I thought I'd share some of my experiences.
I still have most of my original equipment, including clutch, CV boots, timing chain, water pump, brake rotors, and many other parts that don't normally last this long. I change oil every 4500 miles and have had absolutely no engine trouble. Regular maintainence is over-prescribed, I do the 30k service but I only do it every 70,000 miles. My tires last 80k miles, front brake pads last 120,000 miles, my rear drums and front wheel bearings were replaced at 200k miles, drive belts replaced 3 or 4 times, nothing else needed fixing. The only annoying problem is Check Engine Light came on telling me I needed oxygen sensor, I ignored it for 2 years and then it stopped coming on (maybe it burned out?), but since I still get 42 MPG I don't believe the bogus warning light.

Way----- much to my surprise, the car just kept going and going. I thought Toyota would be glad to hear my story but they couldn't care less. probably because they hear these stories all the time. Nobody wants the used car with all those miles, Toyota dealers politely told me Don't bother bringing the car in for trade-in appraisal.

This entire section is dead as dust, but figured I might as well throw in a shoutout to fellow Echo folks. I didn't even know SL had this section until now... and original engine went at 475k miles.
I'm curious where your mileages are now, TBH.
