I just did spark plugs, wires, and an oil change on a previa. Intereting to work on. This one had 298K miles on it, and ran like a champ. He works at a car audio shop, so it is getting a wicked system put in it.

ok i have a question.
im not a minivan person but i have a crazy love for the Previa.
i would love to buy one in good shape but i want to know what to watchout for and what to expect.
im not really worried bout mileage too much because i work at an oil change place and i see very very clean oil in a 250K previa. i want to know how reliable is everything else. are they easy to work on and tune (plugs wires PM)
and what should i expect to pay for a low mileage one.
thanks in advance and thepics are awesome!!!

The only easy maintenance is the oil changes, and air filter (although even that is a small nuisance.)
Changing the plugs and wires means unbolting the front passenger seat.
I *might* (I'll check tomorrow) have the service manual still, although I might have given that to the guy that bought ours.
As far a price, I really couldn't guess. It would depend on other condition, options, year, etc. edmunds.com, kbb.com and one other site I can't recall can give you prices. Also check ebay and cars.com to find some for sale.

WOW...
Sorry to bring this back from the dead, but I never knew Scionlife people had a thing for Previa's I have one myself but its bone stock...Its a cool Van, and I have always wanted to put wheels on it...
I saw that someone had the 350z wheels. Are they 17" If so, what tires did you use?
Also, where do you get aftermarket parts for these???

Yeah, I had a spare set of the 350Z wheels in my garage from my 240SX... I upgraded to 18" Infiniti G35 wheels. I don't remember the tire sizes, but I think they were probably 255/40-17 in rear and 254/40-17 in front. Didn't have any clearance problems, and any five-lug Toyota or Nissan wheels should bolt right on.
Not sure about getting many performance parts for them here ini the states, most would have to be imported from Japan.
I am actually shopping for another Previa... a 95 or later that is loaded and has the dual-sunroof option. They make GREAT road trip vehicles!

Yup..Minivans make a good car for roadtrips! Eventhough they dont go fast, its all good!
I have the 4WD so that option did not come with sunroof plus the sunroof version is only 2wd.
How big are the 18" infinity wheels? Offset? Reason I ask is that I am also looking at a set of 18's and they are 18x8 and 38mm offset OR 18x9 and 38mm offset. I dont know which one to look for. I am not planning on putting fender flares, just lower and wheels. But I do want a flush or somewhat tucked look..
how wide? 9? or 8?

I am newbie here, just joined this month, just bought white xB.
I do not know if this "firesquare" person is looking for Previa.
I owned three Previas, first one I crashed at 180K miles, second one I sold it to my brother in law at 135 K miles and currently own 97 Green Bean. In my opinion, they are one of the best engineered vehicle ever, space efficient. All of my three Previa did not have any major problems, just put gas and change oil and drive. I just wish they make new Previas.
I am also glad that I bought 06 xB before Toyota getting away from 1.5 liter engine.
