Default R&T Reports on Next Supra

The new R&T Magazine reports that the new Supra is probable, in both coupe and convertible forms. The convertible will be primarily luxury, while the coupe will be focused at true performance. There should be a couple of engine choices, from a 3.5L V6 (found in the IS350 and GS350) to a 5.0L V8 producing around 450Hp. $40,000 for the entry level Supra and over $50,000 for the loaded version.

They so need to make this. I know they say the V8 won't be available with the convertible, but I would kill for a 450hp Supra convertible, screw the corvette.

I agree.... this car would ROCK. Of course, do any of us have an extra $50,000 to drop? THAT is the real issue.

MKIV Supra owners aren't going to be too happy, the value of their cars are going to drop when the next Supra comes out.

man, that car looks awsome, even for that price tag, wish they'd lower it a bit, haha.

I wouldn't get another brand new car until my loan is paid off (30k @ 1%, don't start paying til this June , no I didn't spend it all on the tC), but my plan has always been to get a brand new Elise or Vette as a second car once it is paid off. I guess thats still a ways down the road, but since this car isn't even coming out for another 2 years, it doesn't seem so bad.

i thought the price of the car was to be in competition with the 350Z and RX8?

I think 50k is too much, and itll be competing with its own kind [IS350]

Well, there would be a $40,000 version with the 3.5L V6... but who wants THAT?
