Car Rank flaw?
Hello,
I've noticed this for a while, but never posted about it. There seems to be a flaw in the car rank voting system. I'm not sure if this is how they are doing it, but if a user resets their rank somehow... by changing stats? picture? *shrug*...then the person votes 5 stars for themselves, they get top rank...even if they are they only ones who voted for themselves. I think the system should not rank your car unless you have 10 or so votes. This way, people can't keep resetting their car rank and jumping to the top of the list by voting 5/5.

Yeah, this IS something that I have noticed as well, but I let it slide because it only takes one more vote to knock that person down in the ranks -- and with them being at the top it won't take long to get that second vote. It's kind of a way to showcase a "new" ride. 15 minutes of fame? Do you think it really needs to change?

I think so...because once the user finds that they aren't in the high ranks anymore, they reset their rank.

But they can only do it so many times before they give up, ya know? I think it adds some spice to the rankings... otherwise we will see the same guys on there forever.

If you don't want to see "the same guys on there forever", just re-titled the section "Randomly Ranked <insert car name>".
The users can vote on it..or, Darren, you can say "no." I was just pointing out a flaw. If you want to justify it, then do whatever :D

Although a new member might be on top of the registry for a brief moment during the window that their vote is the only vote, we HAVE accounted for this on the front page of the site where top-ranked profiles are displayed. I guess I just don't see it as a flaw, just as an interesting anamoly. I will let others chime in now...
