Yeah, the AVIC is a nice unit. To each his own, I guess.

Yes it does, and I love it cause my E-Class doesn't have it and I get annoyed by it.

Well, I purchased the 06 Camry Navi unit for my xB from OEMvalue last week, but it didn't come with the AMP or the Jumper Harness. I have tried to contact Troy at OEMvalue for the last 3 days by PM, email (no phone number to call) and he has not responded as of yet, I've left my cell number and everything, and this guy won't respond. Hey, I undertand we all make mistakes!

Question is, if this guy continues to flake, do any of you know where I can get a compatable amp (would like the original JBL OEM amp, but no ones knows the part number) and a jumper harness I can use with that AMP and the HU.

Hopefully Troy over at OEMvalue will make right his wrong soon, and send my AMP and harness or even refund my money if he can't supply all the parts. No matter what, I will let the forum know what happens, Good or Bad!

Thanks Guys, and appreciate the help in advance!

Holla!!!

The kit that he sells now does not include an amp, I had to purchase a OEM amp seperately from him for $120.

So far he has been great with contacts through email but I haven't tried calling him yet.

If you have an aftermarket amp I believe you can still do some modifications to it to work with the unit, the mod instructions are on his site.

FINALLY, contacted by Troy today and he said what you said, that the amp is seperate and that for me to get it, it would be $120.00. Oh well, I was prepared to buy an amp anyway to finish my install. I hope that the "kit" includes the jumper harness too!

I asked him to change his website, cause it never mentioned a "kit", it says that everything is included.

Thanks for all your help, I even got a phone number from wgeee7478 incase I need more help with the install. All you guys have been great! I'll let you know how the install went, doing it Thursday.

Holla!!!

Default iPod

hey..do you know if that "iPod Drive+Play" is conpadiple with this? i assume it does because the nav unit is technacally from factory.

if you have the 6-cd changer and dont want to downgrade to only one (and you have an iPod) this is a good option. actually, if you dont have an iPod, getting the drive+play and an ipod is probabbly cheaper or only a little more expensive...

and if the mods dont mind..

Sorry, haven't been on the message boards for a while. I don't see why not. I have a Pac Audio iPod adapter and it plugs into the existing CD changer socket.

Great right up, shows how to perfectly take things apart

As far as the drive and play, its a univeral unit, the modulator uses a univeral antenna plug, any questions on it PM me.

I just came across this on craigslist for new york city. It's the camry navi unit for $400 - I am not sure what else it comes with - whoever is interested can contact the seller.

Just keeping an eye out for good deals! =]

Default about the dash?

is it neccesary to disconnect the battery when dealing with the air bag?

i have my dash apart seemed pretty easy getting ready to do some stuff, not high tech , just ok.

Wow... I haven't been back here in a looooong time.... Anyway I know this is late but I hope you found the information you were looking for. If you didn't, the fusebox is on the drivers side behind the kick panel closest to the door. You'll see it when you stick your head under the driver side footwell and then look up. You should see this big harness of wires leading to a certain location closest to the door. There's a lot of wires there but I assure you it's there. Actually I found out it was easier to go from the top when you have the top dash removed.

I always think it's safest to disconnect the battery whenever modifying the car. I might be being too careful but it's a lot less painful to reprogram your radio presets then to have an airbag activate in your face.
