Ok, I'll bite. Which cars? Do you have any photos of them?

If that was true then why would Toyota bother to install separate amber reflectors on the sides of the clear headlight housing when there is already an amber bulb in there.

Also, side markers aren't just lenses. They have to be reflex reflectors by law. And the reflectors need to be colored (amber front side, red rear side).

Great! Just what I need. Thanks for posting. But why does one need a bulb socket? Doesn't the lens have a bulb already? And if it fits the opening, why use tape?

Are the 89-94 240sx side markers the same as the 93-97 Altima side markers?

Just did mine yesterday and am pleased with the results. The only thing I did different was fab up a small bracket for the other side of the light to help hold it in place. I also used some black silicone to keep it from sliding but the additional bracket holds it so tight that I don't think it was really necessary. I guess it is just extra assurance.

I know, its dirty, but I can't afford to wash it after every snow storm.

This is view of bracket after I reinstalled bumper. It is the sheet metal finger on the right side. I should have taken a pic before reassembly but I was in a hurry to finish last night, since it was so cold.

Default Amber side markers

Just installed mine yesterday with hardly any modifications by simply snapping the lights into place. The only thing I had to do was cut off the sides of the Nissan plug so that it would easily plug into the car's socket. I then secured the connection with lots of electrical tape. The whole thing took about 30 minutes, and the result is at least as good as the original, in my opinion.

Does one have to be a Premium Member to paste photos into a message? If not, how do you do it?

Ned, you have been most helpful. It is thanks to you that I have solved the sidemarker problem quite easily. Thanks again!

Here is what my Nissan amber lights look like (I know, the car is very dirty, but there has been a lot of snow here every day):

Looks great. I don't know when if mine will ever be this clean. Where did you manage to find the clear lenses? I had a difficult time finding them and thus opted for the amber. But the clear ones look more in tune with the rest of the car. BTW, I did not have to remove the bumber, use tape, silicone, hot glue or any additional parts. The lights snapped right in and seem to be pretty secure.

Thanks man. I got these, and as I said earlier, the fit was not that good right out of the box but rest of quality was good (from what I can tell so far).

Looks clean!! from the way your taillights look I would say that you've used my clear taillight mod. It looks really good on a dark car.

I took the car to Europe when I moved here last summer. Local regulations do not allow red sidemarkers, but they can be amber. Kind of stupid, you would think. Just the opposite of DOT regulations requiring red sidemarkers. Go figure...
